Step up to social work

Fast track programme into social work for high-achieving graduates.

 

Benefits of the programme

Supported and hosted by an employer:

  • critical reflection group and learner guide
  • 70 day adult and 100 children's service placements with practice educators/on-site supervision
  • 30 practice-led skills days

 

 

Eligibility criteria

  • A minimum 2:1 level 6 degree qualification (in any discipline other than in Social Work) or
  • a minimum 2:2 honours degree plus a higher degree (level 7 or above, which can include a Master's degree or a Postgraduate Certificate of Education, in any discipline other than Social Work)
  • Grade C or above GSCE in English/ English Language and Maths (or recognised equivalent)
  • Experience of working with children, young people and families
  • The right to remain and work in England

Our role and expectations

Social work is challenging but rewarding and you can make a real difference for children and families. You'll need to build relationships with families facing difficult times, show a lot of patience and be a good listener. You’ll also need good observational skills, analytical thinking and good judgement to make the right decisions and protect children.

  • This is a full-time 14 month programme
  • 100% attendance is required
  • You'll need to pass academic work and placements to progress
  • We seek to employ 100% successful graduates
